The Conquered Sun

It is the birth-feast of the Son. The entire town of Sanctus Clemens has turned out for the festivities, which center around the reading and re-enactment of the birth of the Son.

There’s just one problem: the child who is supposed to play the Son has gone missing, and the pageant begins at midnight! They were last seen playing around the temple — where could the child be?

The Conquered Sun is a one-page dungeon for OSR systems. The module is combat light and appropriate for early-level adventurers (levels 1-3).

This module was written for the 2021 /r/osr "SANTA-nic Panic" Christmas-themed one-page dungeon contest, and inspired by discoveries of mithraea (temples to Mithras) below early Roman Christian churches, as well as the old theory that the date of Christmas was inspired by the festival of Sol Invictus.
